Should i get my tragus pierced after what happend?

okay so . i had a belly button ring . and i cleaned it took care of it , and somehow it got swollen and big it was always a little red the redness never went away so i went to my doctor before it got swollen and asked if its getting infected she told me that it might be and gave me some pills but it never worked it eventualy was so swolen i had to push the top ball out of my skin because it was embedded in it . i went back the doctor said , its infected gave me more pills and a creme but whenever i put the creme on it made it swell more i finnaly went back to the piercer and she told me it wasnt infected at all that my skin was having a reaction to the metal which i thought was impossible because it was surgical steel but she changed it out with no pain at all and put in this white plastic material and the swelling went down and everything . but because of how long it went i have this ugly pinkish scar witch has faded alot , but im thinking about getting my tragus pierced and im scared im gonna have the same reaction to the metal and its gonna deform my ear . but i have also had my nose pierced with the same metal and it was fine ive had it for 1 1/2 now . should i get the piercing or no?
