Black mass on ultrasound?

I had an ultrasound today for a 6+ month old lump that sits just under my breast (underwire sits right on it). I saw a doctor because it has grown and is now getting painful (even stretching causes a sharp pain). On the ultrasound there is well defined black oval that has been marked out which is obviously the lump. What does a black mass mean?
