What will I look like after a semi-permanent red hair dye?

I'm debating whether to keep dying my hair a semi-permanent brown or dye it a reddish colour such as Casting Creme Gloss: Berry Red but have been told that it'll fade into a copper colour after the first couple of washes. Is this true?
